Summer party venues
A selection of London's most unusual outdoor venues for summer party hire, from gardens to courtyards.
The very nature of a summer party opens up a myriad options for you, with some fabulous outdoor venues right here in London. It is important to plan early so that you have the best choice of venues. Will you decide on an outdoor venue where you can sip champagne on a warm summer evening or would you prefer something a little more energetic such as an It’s a Knockout themed party? You might even want a glamorous Summer Ball preceded by drinks on the terrace. If you don’t know quite where to start, we have put together a few unusual ideas for you to look at:
170 Queens Gate
This is ideal for intimate parties with a maximum capacity of 100 reception style in the garden. Home to the rector of Imperial College, this Grade II Victorian townhouse in Kensington’s museum quarter makes an elegant backdrop for any party. The ground floor as a whole encompasses the grand welcome foyer, the Council Room. Drawing Room and the cosy Solar Room has views of the lovely courtyard garden.
For a venue with a royal connection, why not consider Spencer House. In a prime location close to Buckingham Palace, the regal state and reception rooms lead on to an extensive terrace for your guests to enjoy the view of the gardens and Green Park further afield.
South Bank Riverside Walkway
If you are planning a large gathering, then the South Bank Riverside Walkway offers the opportunity for branding against a quintessential London backdrop. With a flexible outdoor setting, production is required here, but the options are endless.
Sky Bar & Terrace at Grange St Pauls
A roof terrace is always a popular choice. We have two favourites – the Sky Bar and Terrace at Grange St Pauls where the dome of St Pauls Cathedral is so close you feel you could almost reach out and touch it. The Sky Bar is an exclusive penthouse-level bar with rooftop terrace and conservatory. The bar and conservatory area have a combined capacity of 200, making it a dazzling setting for drinks receptions, product launches or summer events.
Then there is the urban oasis which is the roof terrace at ME London. With views that touch the clouds and include Tower Bridge, the Shard, London Bridge, Saint Paul’s Cathedral, Tate Modern, Somerset House, Southbank, London Eye, Houses of Parliament, and the theatre district of Covent Garden, the rooftop bar at the ME London raises the bar on the enjoyment of social life whilst having a drink in the lounge.
Natural History Museum
Finally we suggest the Atrium and Courtyard at the Darwin Centre at the Natural History Museum. The fabulous landscaped courtyard is ideal for drinks receptions in the setting sun, followed by dinner in the spectacular atrium. Any event can also be linked in with a private viewing of any exhibition. Used creatively, these spaces will surprise and delight your guests, ensuring that your corporate or private event is remembered for all the right reasons.
