Battersea Evolution opens intimate new events space
Battersea Evolution, renowned for its large shared and exclusive Christmas parties, has now opened its new Mezzanine level, a more intimate space for SMEs and businesses of 500 to 700 employees or less.
Research conducted earlier in the year following the 2014 Christmas party season, found a significant number of companies (21%) would be interested in booking an exclusive event at Battersea Evolution if a smaller space could be offered within the site.
In response to the demand, Battersea Evolution constructed the Mezzanine for the 2015/2016 season of the temporary events space, accommodating both standing receptions and sit-down dinners.
This new space within the venue also means that an exclusive Christmas party could be run in tandem with one of the venue’s sharer parties, with the guest benefiting from private use of the mezzanine for the reception and late night VIP cocktail bar while enjoying a private area for dinner and all the exceptional entertainment available within the venue as a whole.
The Mezzanine will give guests panoramic views of the New York, New York theme that Smart Christmas Parties will be delivering at Battersea Evolution this year, including the outside Rockefeller tree and sweeping staircase over Central Park. The client will also have the option to add bespoke touches to the Mezzanine such as mix and mingle entertainment, photo booths and late night treats.
The space’s seamless presence was demonstrated at the inaugural Rugby Captains Dinner, serving as a VIP pre-dinner reception area, where it subtly helped to distinguish and recognise various ticketing price points without being obvious or obtrusive.
The Mezzanine will also open new doors for Battersea Evolution, especially in the growing market for medium sized conference space from both PCOs and associations. The space is perfectly positioned for all manner of seminars and meetings.
Commenting on the new addition to Battersea Evolution, Andrew Hodgkins, group managing director: events, said: “The Mezzanine level has lifted the potential of Battersea Evolution and opened up a whole host of new opportunities for the venue. The ability to be able to offer a more versatile product to the short-lead Christmas market is appealing. The Mezzanine also gives us the ability to compete in the conferencing sector, where breakout space and natural daylight are increasingly. It puts us at a real advantage in an area of the capital where versatile venues are few and far between.”
