We love the tracks and the new arrangments and lyrics. These are all classical, instrumental and orchestral pieces arranged for three voices by us Girls and our brilliant Producer Ben Robbins. We've included a mixture of our own lyrics together with lyrics that we've transcribed from poems that influenced the composers. There's a unique take on Saint-Saëns' The Swan from Carnival of the Animals. Annalise took Lord Alfred Tennyson's poem, The Dying Swan, as her inspiration; it was the poem which first influenced the composer to write the piece which was originally for cello. Amelia decided to look to Italy for one of her songs and turned to Dante's Paradiso before writing Italian lyrics to the opening of a Mozart's Piano Concerto. Ceri Ann decided that one of Chopin's Preludes for the piano would be her starting point and set about creating her own words for the piece.
It's not just the classical composers who get a look-in for Elysium III's first album; former Mercury Prize winners, Elbow also feature. The girls have given the band's anthem 'One Day Like This' a classical twist.
We can't wait to perform with our new sound and new repertoire.
