19.45-20.00 Getting social at your event

Social media is, for many, the new digital frontier. A world of possibilities, that is also fraught with danger for those who venture in, unprepared. In fact, social media is a natural fit for the events industry, offering a breadth of networking, content sharing and audience dialogue opportunities. But whose responsibility is social media, and how can something so democratised ever be controlled? Showcasing the award-winning work that George P. Johnson has delivered for Cisco Live!, Cisco Systems’ largest EMEA conference, Gareth Dimelow will lead this session and provide a thought-provoking insight into the true business value of these ubiquitous platforms. Executive Director of Planning at experience marketing agency GPJ, Gareth is responsible for delivering the insights that inform the agency’s creative event concepts. In addition, Gareth heads up the Engagement Technology team, overseeing the development of a constantly evolving digital offering, designed to augment and enhance the live experience.
