It's not about 'cheap'. It's about value.
Walsall comes top of cities searching (online) for the word "cheap" (London is 22nd)
Newcastle upon Tyne is top for "budget" (London is 8th)
And Oxford is top for "Affordable" with London 3rd
I'm not entirely sure what conclusions we can draw from that apart from the fact that London isn't purely interested in cheap stuff. It appears Londoners are a more discerning bunch and we look for more 'affordable' solutions, more 'value for money'.
That's why we've called this week's blog Affordable Christmas Party Venues. We don't mean cheap (and tacky), and we don't mean budget (think certain supermarkets from overseas), we mean affordable and that's an entirely different take on the Christmas Party as you will see from the selection we have curated for you. There's a sprinkle of all sorts of affordable ideas and Inspiration for you and we hope we trigger some clever thinking.
DE VERE DEVONPORT HOUSE
First up is the very classy and classic Devonport House in Greenwich.
This place oozes quality, tradition, history, architecture, setting, size (breathe) and presence. Normally you wouldn't get the chance to use these historic great rooms but for Christmas, you can.
You can either take part in their smart (and affordable) Join a Party Nights or you can hire a room privately. There's plenty of choice and selection at this wonderful venue.
PUTTSHACK
Flipping over to something a little funkier and immersive is Puttshack, sister venue of that other indoor experience Bounce.
Puttshack is a new entry to London and has been hotly anticipated and it doesn't disappoint. Indoor golf, clever tech and competitive scoring are all part of the Puttshack experience. Have fun but don't get too competitive, it's Sharon from accounts' first time and you might ruin the vibe of the party.
Puttshack has gone large for Christmas and has excellent packages to suit all budgets with great food and music. What's not to like (or afford)?
BOUNCE
Talking of Bounce - this banger of a venue is perfect for indoor fun and games (and drinking and dancing). You can either join the party or hire your very own private ping pong tables - and fill your boots (responsibly) with craft beers, wines and cocktails and fabulous sharing platters. Ask for the interactive Wonderball table and take your wiff-waff to another level.
ONE BELGRAVIA
Notching it up a level is the grand (but affordable........there's a theme emerging here!!) magnificent and contemporary space One Belgravia. The crew at One Events who run the venue and their sister venue One Marylebone know how to do grand exceptionally well and now they've brought their expertise to the affordable end of the market (lucky you).
The setting, food and exclusivity at this venue are to die for and you'll be very surprised at how affordable it is.
The last 2 venues and experiences we have for you are similar but different.
They're brought to you by one of our favourites here at Londonlaunch.
It's the amazingly diverse and incredibly creative ITA. They have venues, experiences and event expertise the length and breadth of London.
I've picked out two of their more affordable venues: one with a view to die for and the other with the cosiness and tradition that is normally reserved for the members at livery companies.
THE LITTLE SHIP CLUB
This cracker is soooo popular so get in there quick if you like the look of it.
Thames views from every angle and a setup and layout that is just perfect for parties this venue is a beauty. Once used it soon becomes a regular, clients just keep going back. It's got the lot: layout, location, stunning views and affordability. It even sounds intriguing.
COOPERS' HALL
One of the oldest Livery halls in London, Coopers' Hall opens its doors for Christmas and welcomes you into its Pre-Georgian townhouse elegance in the heart of the City. Relaxing dinners and intimate lunches are what Coopers' Hall does so well. Oh, and did I mention they have a museum?
Any guesses what it's about?
